Definitions and safeguards

The aggregation is deterministic, free to run, and generated during the static site build.

Qualifying company

A unique public organic directory record with a stable company ID, canonical location, project association, and no rejected status. Sponsorship never affects inclusion.

Primary-location company

A qualifying company counted once in the state of its canonical primary business address. This is used for state population comparisons.

Market-serving company

A qualifying company associated with a published city destination through its primary location or service-area data.

Evidence-qualified capability

An explicit structured capability supported by the record. Missing fields are unknown and are not interpreted as a negative response.

Directory growth

Changes between snapshots can reflect additions, enrichment, corrections, deduplication, or publication rules. They do not indicate industry growth.

External population

A checked-in last-known-good Census dataset supports state comparisons. The page continues to work if the external source is unavailable.
